Customized tratements based on genetic factors and individual patient conditions—a whole new world of personalized healthcare.

Utilize patient data from the National Cancer Institute– speeding up drug and therapeutic device development.

Multi-disciplinary R&D

Specialize in biomedical engineering, which involves dental implants, hip-protection systems for the elderly, and knee joints prosthetics.

Employ AI and medical imaging to identify cancers earlier and help limit invasive surgeries, enabling care to be more targeted and minimally invasive.

Empowering Youth & Industry

Start MSc, PhD, and certificate programs to support local talent pipelines & job opportunities in the region.

Support local pharmaceutical companies by facilitating collaboration on pharmaceuticals and drug Discovery.

Sports & Rehabilitation Tech

Potential for collaboration with Sports University in Rai (Sonipat) to develop technologies in athlete health, injury prevention, and athlete performance.

Timeline & Support

  • The Haryana government, led by the CM Khattar and their top officials, has committed to providing full support and cooperation.
  • Stage 1 (construction &buildings): ~3 years
  • Full implementation of academic and research operations: 35 years

Expanding IIT‑Delhi’s Footprint in Haryana

The new campus, however, will tie into the earlier announced IITDelhi campus at Sonipat; developed starting in 2018 which houses executive programmes, incubators, and applied research in smartmanufacturing. The Jhajjar initiative is the next step to augmenting IITDelhis role in health-tech development.

Final Thoughts

The Jhajjar campus will be a hub of engineering excellence and clinical investigation, performing innovative research integrating engineering with clinical care in the areas of precision medicine, biomedical devices, and health-tech for athletes. The proximity of the campus to the National Cancer Institute provides a unique opportunity for connection to world-class R&D with real-world impact. In a few years, the Jhajjar campus will become a dynamic ecosystem integrating students, start-ups and pharma companies into a new paradigm for the future of healthcare in India and globally.
